So you know how most auto parts stores have the “buy some oil get a free filter” deals? Usually you pay a slight sale price for the oil and get like a $6 filter free.

So Purolator is the only mass marketed company that sells an oil filter for the Land Rover. Advance has a deal where you get five quarts and a filter for $26. I tried it, they gave me a free filter that fits the LR.

The Land Rover filter is normally $38. So discounted filter and some free oil for me!

Honestly, I’d check for a small drip leak from the filter. If you lose a couple drops of oil every night, then it fits correctly and was torqued to spec. If you don’t see any leaks, then there’s a problem.
